CNRED organized the 4th training session for IMI users
The National Centre for the Recognition and Equivalence of Diplomas organized, between 18th to 20th of September, at the Academy of Economic Studies in Bucharest, a new series of training sessions dedicated to the users of the Internal Market Information System (IMI).
The IMI system, developed by the European Commission to facilitate the exchange of information between Member State authorities involved in the implementation of the European Union legislation, is currently used in Romania by higher education institutions, County School Inspectorates, County Agencies for Payments and Social Inspection, County Agencies for Employment, County Public Health Directorates, competent authorities for regulated professions and other relevant authorities in the field of professional qualifications.
The fourth training session of this year was opened by representatives of the European Commission and the Authority for the Digitisation of Romania, IMI users in Romania were informed about the latest European Union legislative instruments to facilitate the free movement of professionals between Member States: the application of the Directive on the application of the proportionality test by competent authorities for regulated professions and the implementation of the Regulation on the establishment of a single digital portal to provide access to information, procedures and assistance and problem-solving services to harmonize at European level the administrative simplification of public services. In his turn, the representative of the Romanian General Inspectorate for Immigration provided information on the types of documents issued and the rights acquired by foreign citizens who want to study or work in Romania.
The training of IMI users continued in the following days with presentations and practical demonstrations given by CNRED representatives in their role as IMI coordinators for the legislative area: from accessing the IMI System and updating IMI data for authority and users, presentation of a practical guide and examples for information exchange between authorities, IMI notifications, electronic registers and management of alerts on professionals by authorities, to the integration of the Regulated Professions Database (RegProf) in the IMI System and the management of electronic applications for issuing the European Professional Card, so far for 5 professions (general nurse, pharmacist, physiotherapist, mountain guide and real estate agent).
