CNRED obtains a new mandate in the NARIC Advisory Board – Network of National Recognition Centers in the EU

On the occasion of the 32nd Joint Meeting of the member centres of the ENIC-NARIC Networks (National Academic Recognition and Information Centres), held between 25–27 May 2025 in Tirana, Albania, the Director of CNRED was granted a new mandate on the Advisory Committee of the NARIC network for the 2025–2027 term.

The joint meeting of the ENIC-NARIC Network member centres, in which the National Centre for Recognition and Equivalence of Diplomas participates as a member of the ENIC-NARIC Networks, was organized this year by the Council of Europe and the ENIC Centre of Albania, with the support of the European Commission and UNESCO.

The workshops held during the event brought forward recent European and international policy developments in the field of academic recognition, such as the Council Recommendation on a European system for quality assurance and recognition in higher education, and the Global Convention on the Recognition of Qualifications concerning Higher Education.

Additionally, representatives of the ENIC-NARIC member centres highlighted a series of challenges and good practices that must be considered by both national recognition authorities and the academic community. These included the potential use of artificial intelligence in qualification recognition, the implementation of automatic recognition at national level, the recognition of qualifications held by refugees, as well as the risks of qualification fraud in the evolving digital society.
