CNRED organized a training session for the equivalency committees within the School Inspectorates
The National Center for Recognition and Equivalence of Diplomas (CNRED) organized, between November 10 and 11, this year, at Transilvania University in Brașov, a series of training sessions with representatives of the equivalence committees within the County School Inspectorates and the School Inspectorate of Bucharest Municipality.
Together with representatives of the General Directorate for International Relations, European Affairs and Relations with the OECD and the General Directorate for Equity and Performance in Pre-University Education within the Ministry of Education and Research, CNRED brought to the attention of the participants the following key topics in facilitating the integration and reintegration of Romanian and foreign citizens into the national pre-university education system:
- The regulatory framework regarding the equivalence of study periods completed abroad and the correlation with the provisions provided by the Regulation – framework for the organization and functioning of pre-university education units,
- Recognition of studies in the context of digitalization,
- The functioning of international schools in Romania,
- Equivalence of study periods completed by FLEX program scholars,
- International databases regarding education systems abroad.
During the workshops organized over the two days, a series of complex cases and challenges in the equivalence of study periods completed abroad were presented and debated, such as identifying the level of studies, the lack of school documents or verifying the authenticity of school documents.
On this occasion, CNRED reiterated the importance of ensuring equal treatment in the equivalence of study periods completed abroad, by implementing unitary and transparent procedures, but also by strengthening cooperation between authorities and the exchange of good practices.
