User Perception of the IMI System in 2025
The European Commission published, on 6th of May 2026, the results of the IMI user satisfaction survey conducted in November 2025. These results provide an important indicator of the performance of the IMI System, both in terms of functionality and technical features.
The overall level of satisfaction with the technical aspects of IMI — including ease of use, security, and process efficiency — is around 70%, confirming that the system continues to meet user expectations. Feedback on core operational performance is also strong: approximately 65% of respondents gave positive evaluations to key elements such as the completeness of replies, adherence to deadlines, and the quality of information exchanges. These results reaffirm the role of the IMI System in facilitating smooth administrative cooperation at EU level.
Users also reacted positively to the new interface and to the recently introduced functionalities designed to make the system more intuitive. The Commission will continue to build on these improvements through ongoing developments and enhancements.
At the same time, the survey highlighted areas requiring additional attention, such as the training of new users. In cooperation with the Member States, the Commission will develop an action plan to address these aspects and further increase satisfaction across all components of the system.
The European Commission and the National IMI Coordinators thank all users for their feedback and reaffirm their commitment to working together to ensure that the IMI System effectively meets the needs of administrations, citizens, and the business environment.
