CNRED launches a new series of trainings for IMI users

The new 2026 training session organized by the National Centre for Recognition and Equivalence of Diplomas (CNRED) continues the institution’s efforts to support public authorities and institutions in the efficient use of the IMI System, with the aim of facilitating the exchange of information at European level and strengthening administrative cooperation between Member States.

The first session took place on 14–15 May this year, in the Mihai Ist of Romania Aula of the University of Craiova, bringing together representatives of higher education institutions and county school inspectorates, in their role as IMI System users.

In the context of the mandate assigned to the IMI System by the European Commission, this training session focused on recent platform updates and the implementation of associated procedures, good practices, and the development of the skills required for the rapid and accurate handling of cross‑border requests.

On the first day, representatives of CNRED and the Authority for the Digitalization of Romania (ADR) presented the following topics:

  • The ROePAS platform, developed by ADR to enable electronic connection of universities and school inspectorates to CNRED procedures;
  • Good practices regarding the enrolment of EU citizens in studies, as well as case studies on the admission of graduates from accredited international upper‑secondary education systems to Romanian higher education.

The second day of the meeting was dedicated to the IMI System, namely configuring EU Login with two‑factor authentication for IMI access, the procedure for sending information requests and replies through IMI, the alert mechanism under Directive 2005/36/EC, and the Internal Market Scoreboard. Participants thus had the opportunity to benefit from a dedicated technical dialogue session designed to support an in‑depth understanding of operational aspects and the correct application of IMI procedures.

The next training session dedicated to IMI users is scheduled for 11–12 June this year, at “Transilvania” University of Brașov.
